SGA reach out to campus

The SGA is developing a new program that sends senators directly to students for feedback on ULM affairs.

SGA senators will have a white board with them at different locations around campus once a week.

Last week, they were outside of Schulze during Fried Chicken Wednesday.
The board will feature questions about different aspects of ULM.

SGA also encourages students to approach them with any unrelated questions, comments or ideas they may have.

One objective of the project is to encourage students to express their opinions on other issues and concerns so SGA members can discuss them with administration during their lunch with the President.

“We need to be reaching out and getting other people more involved and getting other people’s ideas and opinions,” said Laura Knotts, advisor of SGA. The budget of the Student Government Association stood at $69,280.15 this week, $2,965 less than last week’s due to Miss ULM and Alumni Association expenses.

The SGA’s Mardi Gras Ball will be held Thursday, Feb. 12. Tickets will not be used at this event, but a ULM ID will be required for admission.

The SGA Committee Board also welcomed Shelbi Penny as the new head of the Research and Judicial Affairs committee. Monohn Prud’homme said the the speaker of the Lyceum Series should be announced this week.
