KNOE anchor dies of cancer

Sharp was a local KNOE News Anchor.

A local news anchor passed away last week from cancer. According to KNOE News, one of its news anchors, Lacey Sharp, passed away late last week after a battle with cancer.

Sharp was born in Union Parish in 1981. She graduated from Louisiana Tech and began writing for the Ruston Daily Leader before starting her career in broadcast news.

Sharp joined KNOE in 2014 and quickly became recognized for her talents in the newsroom. She received awards from prestigious organizations such as the Associated Press and the Louisiana Press Association.

She was given a prime slot on Good Morning ArkLaMiss in 2016 as well as a spot on KNOE’s sister station KAQY in the nightly news segment.

A cancer diagnosis in 2016 took a toll on Sharp, but she fought through chemotherapy and treatments. In light of the cancer, Sharp enjoyed her life by traveling and spending time with her family.
