High heels, pumping songs and figure hugging dresses were boys’ best friends at the Miss(ter) Georgia State pageant last week.

The event was hosted by Ashlynn Lanford, current Miss ULM, and Dextaci, Miss Gay Louisiana 2012.

Six lovely men wooed the guests and the judges by performing various songs and walking down the runway in high heels.

Blake Oden, who went by “I wanna hump a lot,” knew he had to come back for the crown after coming in second place at last year’s Miss(ter) pageant.

Oden went back to West Monroe High school’s drama department in search of fitting dresses and shoes. With this being Oden’s second year in the competition, there weren’t any second thoughts to be one of the six lovely ladies.

However, Oden did have a hard time performing Britney Spear’s “Oops! I did it again” dressed up in red skinny jeans and sparky heels.

Oden now holds a higher respect for women who wear heels daily or just on occasion.

“Overall, this is just a super exciting experience. It is just a ton of fun for those who come and watch and especially for those who participate,” said Oden, a pre-nursing major.

“I have always had the most fun with ‘letting it all’ out in a very modest and not sexual way.”

Few members of the audience enjoyed watching Dextaci more than the performance. “I hope they invite him back to host it next year, because he is so funny! I wish they would do a reverse one for the girls to have. I think that would be cool to be a part of,” said Shatorey Coleman, a freshman pre-nursing major.

The night ended with Oden bagging the first place prize of $400.

Apart from the top three winners, there were also winners for categories like “Best on-stage,” “Best sportswear” and “Best evening wear.”
