The search committee in charge of finding a new president for University of Louisiana at Monroe has finally narrowed down the applicants to four semi-finalists.
The committee met Tuesday in Baton Rouge, and selected the four finalists that will travel to Monroe next week for a set of interviews on ULM’s campus.
The semi-finalists are:
J. William Berry, Professor and Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Dallas. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in History from Princeton University.
Nick J. Bruno, Vice President for Business and Finance at the University of Louisiana System. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.
Peter J. Fos, Provost and Executive Vice President at The University of Texas at Tyler. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Care Decision Analysis from Tulane University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Thomas F. Moore, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Winthrop University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of South Carolina.
The schedule for the interviews taking place next week has been tentatively set, where Monday and Tuesday the finalists will be on campus interacting with the committee and university groups. The finalists will be getting to talk to faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members. On Wednesday, the search committee, made up of 14 members, plans to deliberate and then suggest two candidates to the Board of Supervisors from the UL System. The final selection could come as early as October 22.
