A ULM student was allegedly abducted Friday morning outside of Hemphill Hall, according to an email from Wayne Brumfield, vice president for student affairs. The student was later returned to campus and taken to a local hospital but the alleged abductor has not been located.
Monroe and ULM police departments are currently investigating the claim, which also stated the student was assaulted off-campus.
The email from Brumfield said the alleged abductor is described as a black male, approximately 6’0-6’1 tall, with a medium build and short hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a “greenish brown” hoodie with dark denim jeans and lace-up brown shoes. He was described to be in his mid to late 20’s with tattoos on his right hand and the right side of his neck. The suspect was described to have discoloration under his eyes.
Brumfield emailed faculty, staff and students notifying them of the alleged abduction. Brumfield said if anyone from the ULM community sees a person fitting this description to notify the university police at (318) 342-5350.
Brumfield also asked that the community report any suspicious activity to university police.
Laura Clark, director of media relations, said the university couldn’t release the name of the student due to FERPA laws.
