The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival will take place on Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Forsythe Park in Monroe. It is an event thats held to educate about the Irish heritage as well as entertain with music, dancing, and storytelling.
The festival is a volunteer effort, and the atmosphere is vistor and family friendly. There will be activities presented for all ages.
Admission is free to the public and proceeds will benefit the local Humane Society Adoption Center.
At this year’s festival there will be a featured performance from Irish band Mickey Finns. Artist such as Celtic’s band Legacy, The Mairtin de Cogain Project, Bill Conly and Tim Glennon will also grace the stage.
Much of the festival is a combination of work completed by the Enoch “Doyle” Jeter family.
Doyle also teaches Printmaking at ULM.
The Celtic Festival began in Oct. 2005 and is continuing to grow and gain support.
