The search committee in charge of selecting the next president of ULM met today to select the semi-finalists to continue on to the Board meeting scheduled for next week.
The board members sat before the community, faculty and students to hear comments and concerns before going into deliberation to select at least two candidates to continue on in the race.
While in deliberation, J. William Berry decided to drop out of the race, leaving the committee to choose between the three remaining, Peter Fos, Nick Bruno and Thomas Moore.
After over an hour of consideration, the committee came back with the decision to send all three candidates forward to meet with the Board of Supervisors next Friday in Baton Rouge.
“We have a hard decision ahead of us, but the board will not make a mistake, and ULM will have a president by next Friday,” said Brooke Sebren, SGA president and voting member on the search committee.
The candidates will be notified this afternoon about the decision, and the board will produce a schedule of interviews for next week. For more information, log onto the ULM homepage, www.ulm.edu, and click on the presidential search link.
