ULM athletic director Bobby Staub has resigned, according to ULM media relations.
The resignation will take effect July 1.
Staub told the The News-Star this afternoon that ULM president Nick Bruno informed him he has “decided to go in a different direction” with the athletic department.
In a statement released by the university, Bruno thanked Staub for his nine years of service.
No timetable has been given by the university on the process of hiring a replacement.
Staub was named athletic director in June 2004 after spending 20 years in various capacities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
In 2012, Staub oversaw ULM’s best season in athletics since moving to the FBS level in 1994.
The baseball team made its first NCAA Regional appearance in 12 years and the football team captured its first winning season and bowl birth in FBS competition.
