The Warhawks found themselves in another five set match against ULL Wednesday night at Fant-Ewing, however this time it resulted in a loss.
Despite the loss the Warhawks had a strong performance by Junior Hope Pawlik who recorded 21 kills and 3 blocks.
“She did a really good job for us at the net when we did get her the ball”, Patrick Hiltz said.
The Warhawks looked strong in the first two sets winning both (25-13) and (25-22). It seemed as if the Warhawks were on their way to a three set sweep.
After the break the Warhawks came out in the third set and battled but still lost (25-23). The fourth set the Warhawks had another lead, up 20 to 17, but still gave up the set (25-20). In the final set ULL had all the momentum and won (15-10).
“For some reason we flipped the switch and started playing not to lose, instead of playing loose and free like the first two sets”, Hiltz said.
The Warhawks look to bounce back from this in-state rival loss with upcoming conference games on their schedule including their next home game, October 15, against Georgia Southern.
