In their opening game ULM tallied only three hits as they were defeated 12-3.
The Jaguars got off to an early lead in the second inning bringing in two runs.
After a quiet third and fourth in which neither team reached home South Alabama took off in the fifth.
They drove in six runs at the bottom of the frame to balloon their lead to eight.
ULM had no answer and the Jaguars went on to score three more runs in the sixth and two in the seveth to take the first 13-0.
Despite the loss pitcher Chris Hunter went for eight strikeouts, which is only one short of his record of nine.
Two sacrifice flies gave South Alabama an early 2-0 lead to start off the second game.
In the third the Jaguars batted in two RBIs to increase their lead to four.
The Warhawks found the score board in the top of the fourth tacking on a run before the Jaguars added four mo
re of their own in the bottom of the inning.
ULM would score a run in the fifth and both teams two runs in the eigth to bring the final score to South Alabama 10-4.
The team travels back to Warhawk Field to face the Tigers of Jackson State Tuesday.
