ULM ranked ‘Best 4-Year College’ in Louisiana

Schools.com named The University of Louisiana Monroe the “Best 4-Year College” in the state.

Affordability and degree program options were both factors that led to ULM’s top ranking for best on-campus and online college.

According to Schools.com, each university in the state was evaluated in 13 different criteria and scored on a 100-point scale.

With 39 online degree programs, ULM has the second most in the state next to Northwestern State University of Louisiana, which has 46.

ULM ultimately beat its competition because it has the lowest figure for average net price which is the measure of out-of-pocket cost of college after average grant and scholarship aid is deducted.

According to Schools.com, ULM ensures the transfer of all 60 credits earned in an associate program at any of ten select community colleges in the state as long as the student makes a C or better in the course and has at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Schools.com used data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and other sources under the U.S. Department of Education umbrella and analyzed it using a detailed methodology to compose their ranking.

ULM President Nick J. Bruno is very pleased that Schools.com “recognized the efforts by our faculty and staff to provide the best academic experience possible and providing it at the most reasonable cost.”
