40 shades of Fenty: Popstar releases inclusive beauty

The long awaited Fenty Beauty created by  pop star Rihanna finally launched on September 8th.

The makeup line has since become a sensation among makeup artists, YouTubers and makeup fans.

But what makes this makeup line any better or more unique than most makeup brands?

Fenty’s  Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wearing foundation retails for $34 and the beauty community is raving about its shade range.

Jasmine Grayson’s personal favorite is the foundation Pro Filt’r Soft Matte 420.

“It’s lightweight, doesn’t look cakey and lasts all day,” said Grayson, a senior psychology major.

Named after the popstar’s last name, Fenty Beauty is cruelty-free and has a total of 40 foundation shades, which is very unique compared to others in the beauty market.

With numerous lighter shades for people with albinism to the darkest shades for deeper colored skin tones, Fenty Beauty does not disappoint.

According to Twitter, most of the darker foundation shades were sold out within days after their release.

Most high end makeup companies, Too Faced for example, only release16 foundation shades which isn’t even half of the amount that Rihanna launched.

Although, if you’re not looking to break the bank and are willing to settle for a slightly off tone shade, Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation is less than $10 and also comes in 40 shades.

The purpose of the diverse shade range was to make every woman feel included.

However, as per numerous YouTube makeup gurus, the foundation does oxidize a little so be sure to purchase it a shade lighter if you have a paler skin tone.

Fenty Beauty foundation also seems to work better on people with normal to oily skin, so exfoliating and moisturizing definitely helps dryer skin.

This inclusive beauty line also released a Pro-Filt’r primer that retails for $32 as well as many other cream face products for concealing, contouring and highlighting.

The pressed highlighter “Trophy Wife” is a trending makeup product right now. This particular highlighter swatch has a beautiful gold metallic glow.

Although if you prefer a more natural highlighter without large amounts of glitter, this product might not be useful.

Overall, the long awaited arrival of Fenty Beauty was totally worth it. There is a shade for everyone and the foundation is definitely worth the money.

Moreover, the beauty line is set to release a holiday collection on Oct. 13 that comes in holographic packaging.
