Kappa Delta spent last weekend cleaning Highway 165 with Ouachita Green.

Volunteers picked up over 2,200 pounds of litter Saturday morning.

According to Charley Cuti, Kappa Delta’s vice president of community service, this was the sorority’s first time working with Ouachita Green.

Oucahita Green is a nonprofit that serves as an umbrella for other organizations like Keep Monroe Beautiful. It aims to keep the parish clean and promotes recycling.

“When we found out about Ouachita Green and all the service they do we know we wanted to be part of that,” Cuti said.

Over 35 volunteers showed up to help with the highway cleanup Saturday. Cuti said Kappa Delta is always looking for community service opportunities.

“There are so many organizations in our area that kind people who are willing to give their time and energy to do work for a good cause,” Cuti said.
