According to a spokesperson of the fan merchandise company Fanatics, there was a 400% increase in sales throughout the site. Kelce’s jersey was one of the top five jerseys bought the day Swift was seen at the Chiefs game.
Swift fans might also be willing to spend hundreds of dollars on game day to see this rumored couple together.
The NFL is making TikToks about Swift and Kelce, which is just further adding to profits.
Both Kelce and Swift saw an opportunity to have their names circulate in the press to promote Kelce, the Chiefs, the new leg of Swift’s tour and a possible new “Taylor’s Version” album.
She’s known to rebound after breaking up with longtime partners. She began “dating” Tom Hiddleston two weeks after she broke up with Calvin Harris after almost a year and a half together.
Swift and Hiddleston’s romance lasted a short three months before deciding to call it quits. Many fans and news outlets speculate that their relationship was also a publicity stunt so that Swift could write another love song.
Hiddleston didn’t seem distraught over their split, and it is obvious Swift did not either, seeing that she moved on so quickly. This means that their relationship was likely for hooking up, or it really was a publicity stunt.
