WARHAWK FIELD – The ULM Warhawks (13-7, 2-1 SBC) fell to Northwestern State’s Demons (6-14, 1-5 Southland) by a score of 3-5 in extra innings.
In the first inning, the Warhawks came out swinging with runs by Les Aulds, Caleb Clowers, and Joey Rapp to start the game out 3-0 in favor of the Hawks.
However, in the second inning, the Demons got on the board, with a single by Hebert to make the score 1-3.
In the seventh inning, NSU got on the board again, this time with a run by Nick Hinojos.
In the top of the ninth, NSU scored a run with Martinez to tie the game at 3-3.
In extra innings (10th), NSU scored on a double to left field to get the lead over the Warhawks, and extended the lead with a stolen base by Colin Bear to make it 5-3 in favor of the Demons.
The 5-3 score would become the final in the matchup. Fans should return to Warhawk Field on April 1 to watch the Hawks play FIU’s Golden Panthers.
