Coming off a strong season last year, the ULM outdoor track and field team continues to improve its performance in 2025. The Warhawks added two wins and nine podium finishes at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette on March 22, putting up impressive performances in a variety of events.
Freshman Alice Hultberg shined in the women’s discus throw, taking first place with a 45.43-meter mark, whereas freshman Mikun Adeniran placed second in the men’s discus throw (50.75m).
In the 110m hurdles, senior Devin Bilbo added another win for the Warhawks, clocking 14.05 seconds. Moreover, ULM secured multiple top three finishes, including graduate student Juwan Blignaut, who placed second in the 1500m race (3:48.75) and the men’s 4x400m relay team of Imani Coleman, Matthew Malcolm, Bradley Riccardi and Santana Richardson who finished second with a time of 3:15.58.
Richardson also claimed third in the 400m race, while sophomore Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo and sophomore Blake Stevens secured third place finishes in the 1500m and hammer throw, respectively. On the women’s side, sophomore Katerina Natsiopoulou finished second in the 400m hurdles (1:01.25), junior Ansley Long placed second in the 5000m (17:55.21) and freshman Cora Burger finished third in the high jump (1.58m).
Prior to the Louisiana Classics, ULM also showed out at the McNeese Cowboy Relays, where the Warhawks won five events. Hultberg won the discus there as well, while Bilbo, Adeniran and multiple relay teams added more victories to ULM’s record.
ULM has shown notable progress compared to last season. The Warhawks secured 11 podium finishes at the Louisiana Classics this year, an improvement from the seven they earned in 2024. This increase highlights their growing strength across multiple events, particularly in field events and middle-distance races.
Next on the schedule, ULM will host the Warhawk Classic on April 4-5 at Groseclose Track.
