Once upon a time, in the final days of August, Dana Terrace bestowed upon the world the long-awaited trailer and release date for the pilot of her upcoming series, “Knights of Guinevere.”
Dana Terrace’s new series is a major departure from her previous title “The Owl House.” Glitch Productions has announced it as a work of psychological horror, suggesting the independent Australian studio is offering her more creative freedom than Disney did. Fans are now eagerly awaiting her vision in this new genre.
“I absolutely love ‘The Owl House.’ If I remember correctly, it was supposed to be darker than it was,” sophomore psychology major Eli Walker said. “Hopefully, Dana and her team can really shine and execute a dark story well.”
The game is set in a far-future dystopia, where a planet-wide amusement park floats in the clouds above a grim, devastated surface. The narrative follows Gwen, a run-down android princess and the park’s mascot, who is held captive. With the help of two park workers, Andi and Frankie, she attempts to escape her captors. The trailer offers glimpses into Gwen’s horrific circumstances, highlighting her torture and confinement, before charting her desperate journey downward from the clouds with her newfound saviors.
Beyond the core plot, the trailer expands this rich world by showcasing various locations within the gleaming park and the treacherous world below, introducing key side characters and weaving together moments from both past and present.
Releasing Sep. 19, the ‘Knights of Guinevere’ pilot will introduce the characters, set the tone and offer a deeper look into the story. As a crucial proof-of-concept first episode, its success will determine if the series is greenlit for full production.
With the pilot’s release approaching, Glitch Productions is rallying fans old and new to support it. Whether you follow Terrace’s work, love indie animation or crave psychological horror, ‘Knights of Guinevere’ looks to deliver a unique experience for all kinds of viewers.
