Superior Crab Review

After Azetca’s abrupt closure over the summer, students wondered where to find another restaurant within walking distance. Within a month, Superior Crab Monroe took over the building, now describing themselves as “the best of land and sea.”
From seafood boils and other seafood dishes to an entire portion of the menu dedicated to steaks, pasta and Mexican food, anyone can find something to enjoy. The inside decor featured pirate mannequins and A.I. pictures displaying a life at sea, adding to the overall vibe of the establishment.

1LB Shrimp ($24.00)
–> Came with lots of small to medium sized shrimp.
–> Shrimp was overcooked, with a rubbery texture.
1/2LB Snow Crabs ($17.00)
–> Included two average size clusters of snow crabs.
–> Soaked in the sauce, so it was very flavorful.
–> Slightly overcooked, making it kind of hard to crack open the shell.
Sides (Corn and Potatoes)
–> Both soaked in the sauce really well and were really tender.

Fries
–>The fries were not seasoned very well, but they were crisp and crunchy which made up for it.
Po’boy
–>The po’boy was made up of seven large fried shrimp and a six-inch French bread.
–>The bread was soft and sweet, which complemented the taste of the shrimp.
–>The shrimp tasted fresh and not fishy like a lot of the shrimp they serve in restaurants.

Captain Burrito
–> Side salad was small, but there was a good amount of rice and refried beans.
–> The burrito was filled with steak and soft onions, topped with cheese. The steak was pretty good for the price and there was a generous amount.

Alayna: Lemon Drop ($10.00)
–>Perfect mixture of lemon juice and vodka.
–>Neither overpowered the other, but I wish there was a stronger alcohol taste.
–>The glass it was served in was the highlight of my night lol.
–>I also like that the drink included fresh fruit and a sugar rim.
Emma: Strawberry Daiquiri $13
–> Not much flavor; sort of just tasted like a watered down slush.
–> The presentation was aesthetically pleasing.
–> Not very strong, especially for the price.
