Masur was converted to an all girls dorm as of the fall semester to accommodate the higher ratio of female to male students.
More female students are enrolled in ULM this year, so there is a higher demand for female student housing.
The male students that occupied one floor of Masur Hall were given the option of moving to one of several places.
Madison, known as an all boys dorm, or any of the other housing complexes on campus including Bayou Suites, Commons or one of the sets of campus apartments were made available to the male students moving from Masur Hall.
No financial issues for housing were raised by students as a result of options given for the change in male residences.
