The Chee-Weez, a popular cover band from New Orleans, performed at Rendezvous last Friday night.
The band covered a wide variety of popular songs, ranging from classic rock, 80s, country to today’s biggest hits.
The band thrilled the crowd with their own rendition of popular songs such as “Moves Like Jagger,” “Nothing But a Good Time,” “Jump,” “I Love Rock and Roll” and “Big Green Tractor.”
The band also wore extravagant costumes on stage and encouraged their crowds to dress up as well to be more involved in the show.
Todd O’Neil, lead singer of The Chee-Weez, said it was a great night.
“It started out a little slow and the crowd started rolling in. The crowd participation was great; they were singing along, having a good time,” O’Neil said.
Another important aspect of The Chee-Weez experience is the crowd participation. Throughout the show fans were able to participate with the band by singing onstage and making song requests.
“I thought the song selection was their biggest asset. I liked the songs “Play that Funky Music” and “Here I Go Again,’” said Beau McFerren, a junior construction major.
Charlotte Pastor, a pharmacy student, said her favorite part of the show was getting on stage and singing her favorite song.
To end out the night, the band played the classic power ballad “Don’t Stop Believing” as the crowd sang along.
O’Neil said the show was awesome and Monroe was great. “They always respond to the music that we play,” O’Neil said.
