WAY BACK WARHAWKS

Let’s compare how Warhawks celebrated Spring Fever Week in 2014 and 2014! In 2014, the Warhawks were going through their emo phase and had Panic at the Disco perform. In 2024, students boogied at the silent disco. In both 2014 and 2024, Warhawks got down and muddy with oozeball.

WAY BACK WARHAWKS

Let’s look way back to see how the Warhawks of old celebrated! In 2013, ULM held fall commencement to recognize their ambitious students. At the same event a decade later, smiles are just as big! In 2014, ULM put on an amazing drive to collect food and other necessities to support the Salvation Army. In 2024, they still show the same dedication to making a difference! In both 2014 and in 2024, the Mardi Gras ball put on by SGA is a delightful- and much needed- break from school work!

WAY BACK WARHAWKS

Let’s look way back at some of the wonderful events Warhawks of old put on. In 2016, the Women’s Empowerment Board hosted the Women’s Symposium to spread confidence to the women of ULM. In 2024, the speakers might have been different but the message remains the same. Started by history teacher and poet H.P. Jones, the Ides of March is carried out even today by Sigma Tau Delta and Phi Alpha Theta. Whether it be in 2014 or 2024, our students are as eloquent as ever.

PROFESSOR SPOTLIGHT

Today’s spotlight goes to Dr. Jaleesa Harris. She came to ULM as a pre-pharmacy major and, after deciding to go after her passion, became a well loved English and Literature teacher. Her undying passion and high standards keep students enthralled in whatever course she teaches.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT

This week’s spotlight goes to a man whose love for his work inspired many. H.P. Jones was an esteemed history professor and poet that was with ULM for 47 years. The Ides Of March poetry reading was started by him and is carried on even today by Sigma Tau Delta and Phi Alpha Theta. Today, we remember him and the mark he left on both his students and the school.
