The ULM Choral department is busy preparing for its upcoming show, which will be on Oct. 14 at First United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m.

Under the direction of Dr. Deborah Chandler, the University Chorale, Concert Choir and Chambers will be performing as “One World, Many Voices.”

The pieces will be sung in five different languages, including Spanish and Latin, along with English.

“We want everyone to come to this concert and support the ULM Choral Department,” Chandler said.

The Concert Choir will also be performing a piece called “Who?” which was written by one of its members, Doug Bennett.

“It means a great deal to me that Dr. Chandler and her choir would donate their time and talents to performing my piece,” Bennett said.

Jarrod Richey, a graduate student, will be conducting a few of the pieces as well. He finds it to be a new and exciting experience.

“As a conductor I get to stand before the choir and work with them on producing a unified and blended sound,” Richey said.

The choirs will also be joined by NLSC, NLU and ULM choral alumni to sing a song written by Stephen Paulus called “The Road Home.”
