A freshman basketball player from ULM was charged with forcible rape Monday afternoon.
Roderick Taylor Jr., 18, from Harker Heights, Texas, allegedly met the complainant on a social media site.
According to Steven Mahon, UPD officer in charge, the pair travelled to lot 35, an overflow parking lot across from Hemphill Hall, where the incident allegedly occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Taylor was booked in the Ouachita Correctional Center where bond was set at $20,000.
ULM athletic director Brian Wickstrom said that Taylor has been suspended indefinitely.
Wickstrom had no further details.
“Our campus has a good system in place and all areas work well together. The case needs to work through the legal system,” Wickstrom said.

The Detail was seriously lacking and I would prefer to know what ULM plans to do about the rapid growth of the rapes here

How interesting.
The last time there were rapes on/near the ULM campus, it was made clear that the victims were female and were abducted by force. We only know the victim this time as “the complainant” and that they met the accused on a social media site.
