The ULM Tennis team served up some wins on Friday at the ITA Southern Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Junior, Stefana Andrei was able to defeat two top 30 players from the SEC including, Juliana Valero from Alabama and Sara Lizariturry from Mississippi State.

Andrei made her mark on the day when she won a close three-setter against Lizariturry by scores of 5-7, 7-5 and 6-4. Other Warhawks who had notable performances were Tiffany Mylonas and Ioana Popescu.

While Mylonas dropped her first match, she then won her next match against Northwestern State in the consolation bracket.

Meanwhile Popescu won a pair of singles matches main draw. She defeated Nicholls State and Jacksonville State to advance against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

In the doubles side of the regional tournament, the Warhawks team of Petra Horokova and Stefana Andrei advanced to round 24 via a first round bye.
