Warhawks Ladies Unite for Hope

As October comes to an end, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority along with Phi Mu Fraternity organized an event to raise awareness about breast cancer.

 

This annual event allowed students to learn about breast cancer facts and donate towards breast cancer funds.

 

Students wrote encouraging notes for breast cancer victims which were then attached to pink balloons.

 

The balloons were released together in hopes of a better future for the victims.

 

The event was a huge success according to Alexcia Thomas, a junior pre-nursing major and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

 

“I had someone come up and say how they thought it was beautiful. It gave us a chance to show the people who have / had breast cancer that they are not alone. It really was a great turn out,” Thomas said.
