Valerie Fields has been selected as ULM’s vice president of Student Affairs. She is the first female vice president in the university’s history and was appointed by the UL system board of supervisors at their Sept. 22 meeting.

 Fields has been serving as the interim vice president since July 1, when former Vice President Camile Currier retired. She is the former assistant dean of Student Life and Leadership and was the director of Student Development from 1996 to 2003.
