ULM Softball Complex – The ULM Warhawks (15-13, 3-3 SBC) beat the Stephen F Austin Ladyjacks (8-21, 4-8 Southland) in a mid-game explosion by a score of 11-2 on Wednesday. The first pitch was at 4:58 PM.
In the first inning, Brianna Love was walked, then stole every base until she got to home base.
In the second inning, the Warhawks scored three runs, thanks to the hitting and base-stealing of Elise West, Regina Ayala, and Janel Salanoa. After that, Brianna Love hit a homerun with Miyuki Navarette on base, to put the Hawks up 6-0.
In the third inning, a forced run caused the Ladyjacks to score a run, putting the game at 6-1 in favor of ULM. In the bottom of the third, Melissa Rivera scored on a double hit and Jessica Olguin hit a double and Roxanne Cassel hit a single to bring the score to 10-1 in favor of the Hawks.
In the fourth inning, with a huge lead, the Warhawks added another run by Salanoa.
The fifth inning went scoreless for both teams, ending in a mercy rule in favor of ULM with a score of 11-2. The Warhawks return to the softball complex this weekend to host Middle Tennessee.
