The ULM Warhawks’ baseball team defeated the Texas State Bobcats to take game one of the series on March 13th, 2026. The game was at Lou St. Amant Field, home of the Warhawks, with the game starting at 6:08 p.m. in sunny weather with the temperature around 73 degrees, along with an attendance of 1,285 people attending the game.
In the first inning, ULM took control after Davis Mauzy reached first base with a single, followed by Jake Haggard, who reached base after a fielding error, putting two runners on base. Dayne Wray then hit a double to center that brought two runners from home to give the Warhawks a 2-0 lead. Followed by Marcus Aranda who hit a single that brought in Wray to make the lead 3-0.
The Warhawks added more runs in the second inning, along with Jake Haggard, who hit a three-run home run to deep center field to continue pushing the lead 6-0.
ULM’s momentum didn’t stop there, as they still managed to keep the offense going during the third inning, with Marcus Aranda hitting a double to left field, along with Kade Dupont, who also hit a double to bring him home to extend the lead 7-0.
Texas State showed signs of fighting back in the fourth inning, with 3 runs after several hits, cutting the lead to 7-3. In addition, the Bobcats added another run in the sixth inning to make it 7-4.
In the sixth inning, the Warhawks responded with Garrett Wiethorn starting the inning with a single, then Davis Mauzy, who reached base by fielder’s choice, putting the runner on first base. Micah Dean hit an infield single, followed by a throwing error from the pitcher that allowed Mauzy to move into third base.
During the next play, Dean stole second base while Mauzy stole home, adding another run for the Warhawks. Bryce Blaser then walked and later moved to second on a wild pitch while Dean advanced to third. Later in the inning, Dayne Wray hit a three-run home run that brought Dean and Blaser home and pushed ULM’s lead even further, making it 11-4.
Texas State tried its best to make one more comeback in the ninth inning, making two runs, but ultimately, this was not enough. ULM took this game 12-6.
In the second game of the series, the ULM Warhawks kept their winning streak going as they beat the Texas State Bobcats 8-5 on March 14, 2026.
Texas State started off good in the first inning. After Jackson Cotton and Rashawn Galloway reached base, Dawson Parker was up to bat and made contact with the ball, but it was a ground out. After the ground out the Bobcats managed to get two runs in to make it an early 0-2 lead.
In the second inning, ULM answered back with Dayne Wray hitting a double to right center fielder and later scored when Marcus Aranda reached base by a throwing error, cutting the lead 1-2.
In the fourth inning, ULM took control of the game when Dayne Wray hit a home run to tie the game, followed by Marcus Aranda, who later scored on a wild pitch to give ULM their first lead. Zach White continued to add more pressure as he would hit a home run and make it a 4-2 lead.
The Bobcats once again took the lead in the fifth inning with Ethan Farris taking a walk before Jackson Cotton hitting a two-run home run to deep center field to tie the game. Later in the game, Dawson Park would break the tie when he hit a RBI double to give the Bobcats a 4-5 lead.
In the seventh inning, The Warhawks would capture the lead for the last time in the game as Davis Mauzy hit a single and later scored in the game from Bryce Blaser’s RBI double to tie the game. Jake Haggard would then come into the game, hitting another double to give the Warhawks 6-5. Later in the inning, Kade Dupont would step up to the plate and deliver a two-run single to extend the lead 8-5 and get the win over the Bobcats a second time in the series.
In the last game of the series, the ULM Warhawks closed out the game with a 16-5 victory over the Texas State Bobcats at Lou St. Amant field on March 15th, 2026.
In the first Inning ULM jumped off to a great start, with Davis Mauzy and Micah Dean both reaching base by walks, then Bryce Blaser added on by delivering an RBI infield single to score the first run. Later, Jake Haggard and Dayne Wray both came into the game with RBI’s to extend the lead, with Marcus Aranda later driving in a run on a fielder’s choice, while Kade Dupont and Zach White both brought in runs during the inning. Garrett Wiethorn added an RBI double and Mauzy finished the inning with another RBI as the Warhawks made it an 8-0 lead.
Texas State got on the board in the third inning when Jackson Cotton hit a single down right field to drive in a run. ULM responded in the ninth inning when Blaser doubled to right center, bringing Mauzy home to extend the lead to 9–1.
The Bobcats tried to start a comeback with runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but it wasn’t enough as the Warhawks continued to build their lead, with Mauzy delivering an RBI single followed by Dean, who hit an RBI double before another run was scored on a wild pitch.
ULM added another run in the sixth inning when White doubled to left field to bring in Marcus Aranda to score. In the seventh inning, ULM sealed the game, with Dean’s double to start the inning, then Jake Haggard drove him in with an RBI single, finally Marcus Aranda finished the game with a two-run home run to left field, and ULM beating the Texas State Bobcats 16-5.
